Most organizations measure customer satisfaction by how well they avoid
customer dissatisfaction. A common mistake is to think that if
a few customers complain, most are happy. How would you feel if
you learned that 96 percent of your unhappy customers will not
complain, and that all customers with gripes will tell them to
9 or 10 other people? That was the finding of a federal consumer
products study.
Multiply
the number of complaints you get by 10, and you may have a more
realistic picture of customer satisfaction. Multiply complaints
by 100 and you may have an idea of how many people out there have
heard bad things about your organization. Think about that the
next time you have problems getting your budget approved. -- Dr.
Ian Littman, Excellence in Government.
"Genuine
change is never a function of dominance, or even education, but
of empathy and common ground." -- Alan Briskin, The Stirring of the Soul in the Workplace

achieve success in any change initiative, the degree and level

if not, there is a mismatch and the initiative is destined to fail."
-- Ron Rosenberg, Breaking out of
the Change Trap: A practical guide for organizational change
"To
learn anything other than the stuff you find in books, you need
to be able to experiment, to make mistakes, to accept feedback,

ride a bike or starting a new career, the cycle of experiment,
feedback, and new experiment is always there." -- Charles Handy, The Hungry Spirit
"A
wise man sees as much as he ought, not as much as he can."

"One
of the difficulties in bringing about change in an organization
is that you must do so through the persons who have been most
successful in that organization, no matter how faulty the system
or the organization is. To such persons, you see, it is the best
of all possible organizations, because look who was selected by
it ad look who succeeded most in it. Yet, these are the very people
through whom we must bring about improvements." -- George Washington
"Success is not a doorway, it's a staircase." -- Dottie Walters
"It
