Thursday, July 31, 2003 Go ahead, Show those Pearly Whites By Josh Hinds (c) 2003 Your smile makes a positive difference in the world around you - One of our most valuable assets is our smile. Think about it for a second... I mean really think about it, your smile is the first opportunity you have to make a difference in the lives of those around you. With one simple flash of your pearly whites you can literally cause a mini-chain reaction from that person, to the next person and so forth. Now I'm not going to say you're going necessarily change the world with one friendly gesture to a passerby, but then again. everything has to start somewhere right? With that said, I hope you'll choose as I do to make a conscious effort not to let this wonderful opportunity pass you by. Sure at times people might look at you a bit funny. However, all and all you'll be amazed at the overall effect that sharing your smile will bring about. Best of all as I touched on before, you'll be making a positive impact on another person, who in turn is likely do the same to the next person they come into contact with. There's no way of knowing just how *BIG* an impact your simple gesture can have. Who knows... It might even makes it way all the way back to you. Now that's exciting stuff, but it all starts with your decision to share that smile -- so don't be stingy with it! Put it to work, starting right now... Admittedly my answer is a bit open ended; however, I do believe it does a good job of addressing the question. You've got to be certain that whatever you choose to pursue is something that you place a high value on. In other words, don't make the mistake of going out into the marketplace attempting to sell something that you yourself don't believe in, or place in high regard. The simple fact is that if you don't believe in it, it's going to be hard to get its value across to your others. Another reason to focus in on something your passionate about is that virtually anything worthwhile takes effort. Very often a lot of it! Keep in mind that Rome wasn't built in a day. Since we know it's going to take time to get see benefits of our labor doesn't it stand to reason that doing something we truly enjoy will help take the 'edge' off of all the extra effort we're putting forth as we move towards making our dreams manifest in our lives.
