Can You Stay Positive in a Negative World?

Dave BreslowWhat did you see on the news last night?

I’ll tell you what I saw–out of a 30 minute newscast, and not counting commercials, I saw 11 stories. Out of the 11 stories 9 of them were about something negative. Is this unusual? Sadly, no, it’s not.

We live in what I call a “toxic” environment. It’s all around us and makes it increasingly challenging to see the positive and bright side, doesn’t it? Negativity is all around us. We see it on television and listen to it in song. Of course, it’s not ALL negative but there is so much of it out there that it is critical that you don’t get swept up in it.

Are You Successful at Playing Your Song?

Dave BreslowWayne Dyer often says “don’t die with your song left inside you.” What does this mean? To me, this means that we are all a success when we share our gift with the world. It also means we all have dreams and even though they may be “stifled” or “buried” within us, they are dreams nevertheless. That dream is our “song” and when we play it we are confident and happy.

5 Positive Principles That Will Help You “WIN” in Life

Ryan C. Lowe - motivational speaker and authorI heard a very interesting statement not too long ago that really made me think and it has stuck with me for sometime now… this person made a statement saying “you can measure a person’s height, you can measure how high a person can jump, you can even measure how fast they run, but you can not measure a person’s heart. What that person meant and what I got from that statement is that you never know what’s in a person’s heart and just how hard someone will work for something.

Success Lesson: On Persistence

As I do every morning, I wake up and go right to my iPad to read all of the newsletters, emails, and quotes that I subscribe to. You might do the same, you may have a very similar routine. If so that is a great way (I find anyway) to start my day.

Whatever the routine you have, as long as it works for you and you are able to start your day filling your “Happy Meter” in the right direction… good on ya!

Beating the chill of your life…Walk Faster

What’s the feeling of winter? The cold and the chill! A time when the sun hides for days behind the blanket of a thick soot of clouds and the freezing winds hit your spine at a ravaging speed.

What should you do to beat the cold? Stay warm, cocoon yourself in the heat of the blankets or the heaters in your homes, offices and other spaces…or just walk faster than you regularly walk!

Walk faster? How is walking faster going to beat the chill of the winter?

Success Lesson: Deal in Reality By Jim Stovall

Jack Welch is among the great executives and business minds on the scene today. Through his own corporate performance, his books, and speeches, he is recognized as a world leader. I believe one of the major keys to Jack Welch’s success is summed up by his statement, “Start every meeting with the question, ‘What is the reality?’”

No matter where you want to go in your life or your career, the one thing I know is that you will be starting from the exact point where you are today. There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going, and the first necessary step begins when you identify exactly where you are.

Success Lesson: Christopher Reeve – A True Super Hero

Sometimes it takes a great amount of courage to learn the lessons that life puts in front of us that enable us to grow. Many things of value can not be taught, they must be lived. Every now and then however, people come into our lives and set the ultimate example for what it means to be courageous and take responsibility.

Once in a while we are blessed to know those who set the standard for what it means to be a hero, simply by the choices they make. One such person was Christopher Reeve.

The Illusion of Challenge Randy Taylor

Have you always felt deep down inside that you are capable of so much more? If you do you’re not alone.

Most of us have an innate sense that we are capable of far more than we have yet we remain confused by what stops us and conflicted by what we need to do to make it happen. I work in the field of personal and professional development, primarily in the financial services industry and deal every day with clients looking to implement the process of change that will lead to success. The truth is that the greatest challenge any of us will face throughout life is the impact of the information we take in and the experiences we have over decades that create the voice of doubt. Know this. You and I and everyone were born with a perfect belief system.

Your Positive Self Talk And Thinking Matters

The importance of self talk is nothing new, and I am sure that you have heard about it before. For the past 20 years of my learning and growing with personal development leaders, teachers, and friends, one thing remains so apparent — the idea that we become what we think about.

Do you realize that 90% of our thoughts are unconscious, we don’t even know we are having these “Little Conversations” with ourselves. This self talk and or self thought is so powerful and controlling it is unbelievable.
